About the Course
The NAUI DFA Pro course is the most comprehensive first aid and emergency response training program available for divers pursuing leadership roles such as Divemaster or Instructor. Building on standard First Aid and CPR skills, this course is tailored specifically to the unique challenges of diving and dive leadership, ensuring you are prepared to act confidently and effectively in any emergency situation, both in and out of the water.
What to Expect
You will learn how to manage diving-related medical emergencies including decompression illness, near drowning, marine life injuries, oxygen administration, neurological assessments, and accident management. Training also covers scene safety, emergency action planning, and leadership-level decision-making, giving you the tools to take charge during high-stress situations.
Through a combination of interactive classroom sessions, realistic scenarios, and hands-on skill practice, you will gain confidence in recognizing problems quickly and applying the appropriate response. DFA Pro is not just about meeting a requirement — it is about developing the mindset and practical skills to protect divers under your supervision and to be a reliable first responder in any diving environment.
- An active-status NAUI Divemaster who completes a NAUI-DAN First Aid Instructor orientation, who has completed all required NAUI-DAN orientation modules and is using the NAUI-DAN training and support materials, is also qualified to teach the NAUI-DAN First Aid programs..
