About the Course
You will learn about the physiology of oxygen and nitrogen; advantages, disadvantages, and risks of nitrox; the concept of Equivalent Air Depth; use of EANx with standard Air Dive Tables; common gas mixing procedures; and more.
Upon passing the required exam, you will be certified to dive nitrox mixes up to 40% O2.
What to Expect in Your NAUI Nitrox Scuba Diver Course
1) Registratio
Complete enrollment forms and medical questionnaire.
2) NAUI E-Learning
Learn the science of diving with Nitrox.
Understand benefits of Nitrox.
Study dive planning with Nitrox, oxygen limits, and equivalent air depth.
3) Gas Mix Analysis & Hands-on Practice
Learn how to properly analyze your Nitrox cylinder using an oxygen analyzer.
Record oxygen percentage, verify maximum operating depth, and label your tank correctly.
Practice calculating oxygen exposure and safe depth limits for different mixes.
4) Dive Planning & Procedures
Learn how to plan dives with Nitrox using dive tables and/or a dive computer.
Practice setting your dive computer for Nitrox.
Understand emergency procedures and what to do if you exceed safe limits.
5) Optional Open Water Dives
Depending on the course package, you may complete two supervised Nitrox dives.
Apply planning skills, set your dive computer, and experience the benefits of diving with Nitrox.
6) Final Review & Certification
